Fibrinolysis in myocardial infarction.

چکیده
Fibrinolysis is the process of fibrin digestion by an enzyme system present in the blood. Although fibrinolytic activity has been found in the normal, and in many pathological states, its role remains obscure. It seems likely, however, that such a process may take part in the normal hamostatic equilibrium of the body and may be operative in the processes of resolution and healing (Astrup, 1956). This paper records serial observations with respect to this fibrinolytic activity in cases of myocardial infarction.

Tenecteplase versus reteplase in acute myocardial infarction: A network meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials
Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is the leading cause of death throughout the world. One of the standard approaches to treatment of AMI is fibrinolysis. The study was conducted to evaluate the clinical efficacy of tenecteplase versus reteplase through network meta-analysis for AMI. Methods: Randomized trials were comprehensively searched in PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane library, a...

Therapeutic fibrinolysis has been dominated by the experience with tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA), which proved little better than streptokinase in acute myocardial infarction. In contrast, endogenous fibrinolysis, using one-thousandth of the t-PA concentration, is regularly lysing fibrin and induced Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade 3 patency in 15% of patients with ac...

متن کاملLow thrombin activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor activity levels are associated with an increased risk of a first myocardial infarction in men.
BACKGROUND Studies on the relation between thrombin activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor (TAFI) and arterial thrombosis have produced conflicting results. TAFI regulates fibrinolysis, but other roles of this inhibitor, including anti-inflammatory properties, have also been demonstrated. DESIGN AND METHODS We investigated the association between TAFI activity and the risk of myocardial infarctio...
متن کاملLong-term follow-up of early versus delayed invasive approach after fibrinolysis in acute myocardial infarction.
BACKGROUND Optimal reperfusion strategy in ST-elevation myocardial infarction is controversial. Failure of fibrinolytic therapy is related to limited efficacy, high reocclusion rates, reinfarction, and systemic bleeding complications. Data on the impact of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) after fibrinolysis are conflicting. The Southwest German Interventional Study in Acute Myocardial I...
